whoa. hello? is anyone still out there??? sorry for the long long long long long time delay. i'm going to talk to mom about setting some kind of time deadline between pass offs. we're both getting really bad at it. maybe 2 weeks from the day you get the book? turns out neither of us work very well without having deadlines....

happy 60th birthday mom. love you.

hey mom, finally getting back to it. you should be bothering me to post this stuff like i always do to you.

so i just touched up the tomatoson drawing a little bit, because i can't seem to help myself from outlining and coloring everything in.

i also just left the hole to see what you'd do with it. make it happen, mamacita.

mom was whining about this post, but i don't think she needs to worry, such a perfectionist. mom is becoming a sketch diva, she must have her velvet robe and servants holding the lights at just the right angle to be struck with "her unique vision". ok, i'm lying, but i was giving her shit this morning, and thought i just give her just a little more.

i like her play on words though, TO->MA - TO->SON,,,, just like our sketchbook.... get it? so clever, she deserves to be a diva.

well, mother, i'm trying to be a good influence.  1 day, now that's turn-around.  of course, with short turn around, you get green boobs being plucked from the ocean, and a big hole in the pages for you to work with....

will make it true,
that hands will hold,
all branches are gold.

it was such a nice night i didn't even let the bugs bother me.
much cooler now than the swimming red dust of day.
even the farmer's temper tends to cool a degree.
as a sweat boils up inside things the man cannot say.

ok mom, i have no idea.  i've been slacking on my turn to update, and apparently self-imposed guilt comes out as words that don't make any sense and are not spelled right.  i wanted to send it back to you before i left for the rest of the week though.  i feel kind of bad turning grandma into a superhero, although i'm sure she'll use her powers only for good and not evil.

and i'm not sure why i feel the need to color everything in with little lines.  sure has been happening a lot lately though.  make a shape, put little stripes in it.  not good, horizontal stripes make me look fat.  i stay up too late, that's why nothing i write makes any sense.

i LOVE mom's new post.  excellent country-fied pencil rendering.  and the new pic is from 1930, a pic of my grandmother (mom's mom) and her sister.  grandma was a fox!!
